The New Consciousness of Network Marketing

You can feel it in meeting places all around the world.
At in home meetings, in business briefing presentations, and most of all...
on the Internet.
There is a new consciousness in network marketing, and things will never be the same again.
The first thing you need to know about this "new consciousness" is that its a GOOD thing.
But in order to be able to appreciate what it is and why its so good, its necessary to step back in time to take an honest, open, and candid look at the "old consciousness" that is quickly being replaced.
For years, thousands upon thousands of hopeful home-based business professionals have felt helpless in their network marketing businesses.
We believed in ourselves, in our companies, and in network marketing as a whole.
We showed the plan, went to meetings, and worked with our new recruits on duplicating the proven system.
But there was an unspoken angst among us.
A pink elephant in the middle of the room that no one dared mention.
Or maybe we did in our most frustrated moments-but only in peanut galleries of similar sentiment.
In the midst of the motivational speeches and environment of empowerment, the vast majority of us felt that there was something missing...
some magic bullet...
some "X factor" that somehow the leaders were not sharing with us.
It seemed like that there were certain marketers who could walk into a company today and be top money earners tomorrow.
When asked what they were doing, they'd reply that they were doing the same thing that we were doing, showing the plan.
How was that? I'll tell you how.
You see, there has NEVER been a magic bullet.
No secret X-factor.
What we thought was a lie was actually true all along.
The difference between those superstars and the rest of us was MASSIVE ACTIVITY.
But if the concept is so stupid simple as that, then how did we miss it? I'll tell you how.
These marketers had paid dues in other places-whether in their personal or professional lives-that gave them an large pool of prospects to go after.
Things like: 1) Old downline reports from former home-based businesses that they had built 2) Large rolodexes full of ambitious, go-getter-types from business relationships that they had spent years building, often with top money earners in other network marketing companies.
3) A large following of colleagues and clients who trusted their opinion and authority as a high-paid knowledge professionals in fields like medicine and real estate 4) A lifetime of untapped warm prospects that they had never talked to about a business, representing decades worth of relationships.
This was their launching pad.
Then on top many of these crack shots were employing marketing campaigns like: A) Direct Mail B) Ads in home-based business periodicals and newspapers C) Lists of leads bought by the thousands ...
and many more.
So how does this relate to the NEW consciousness? Well, with the power and accessibility (in terms of price and feasibility) of the Internet, rank-and-file network marketers are beginning to feel every bit as empowered as one of the big shots.
This new consciousness of being in control of our businesses is affecting the network marketing in several very positive ways: 1) Opportunity seekers are becoming more knowledgeable and proactive in choosing their businesses and sponsors, as opposed to being recruited by their unemployed uncle Ted.
2) With all of the information out there, marketers are being forced to use more professional business practices when recruiting a downline and selling their products.
This trend is good for the reputation of all of network marketing.
3) Along with the advent of Attraction Marketing, the market is demanding that home-based business people transcend being near distributors desperately looking to recruit anything with $500 and a pulse.
Now there is a challenge to learn a thing or two about what you are doing and bring something of value to the market place BEFORE expecting any big results.
Like I said earlier, this is a GOOD thing.
And we are all extremely fortunate to be in this business model at this point in history when such a wonderful shift is taking place!
